EBA Update: Feedback on the ‘AV Proposal’ #2

Since our last update, we have had a number of discussions with AV & DHHS and are continuing to progress towards agreement for the Ambulance Victoria Enterprise Agreement 2019 (“the EBA”). The information on this page is based on further discussions up to and including 30 Jan 2020, with updates highlighted in blue

This information is provided to APA (Vic) members for consideration; it must be noted that it is based on current discussion and may not be reflected in the final version of the Agreement.

Please continue to provide your feedback to APA (Vic) so that we can represent your concerns at the AVEA 2019 Negotiations, and work towards an Enterprise Agreement that improves the Pay and Conditions for our members and all applicable AV employees.

AV Proposal – an APA (Vic) perspective for members

On 12 Dec 2019, Ambulance Victoria released an EBA Update, the “AV Proposal” outlining the basics of their proposal for changes to be included in the Ambulance Victoria Enterprise Agreement 2019 (“the EBA”). Subsequently updates have been posted on the 26 Dec and 30 Dec 2019, and 16 & 30 Jan 2020. (Available Here)

APA (Vic) is considering this proposal (and the updates) as it relates to our Log of Claims, and the overall impact that it will have on our Members and the employees to whom it relates. We have already received feedback from some members and hope to receive more in the coming days.

While this information is significant, there remain a number of areas where only minimal change has been made, or it is believe changes will be of a primarily procedural nature and will not directly affect outcomes of members (such as removing reference to Committees that no longer exist, or simplifying definitions); these have not been included here.

At this time, APA (Vic) offers the following information on some of the issues you have already raised with us, however we hope to hear from you soon about any further concerns you wish to raise.

  1. – 4 for 5 or 4.5 for o.f arrangements: What rate will OT be paid at?? Should be full

    – Inclusion for TM. AS experience as ATM is achieved this should count towards pay level/year when appointed into a position
